holy crap. i heard a song last night that was the most minor of alternative hits in 1995. oddly, and probably only in my own estimation, minor mid 90s hits are the best music ever created. this song is absolutely incredible. it's even more incredible given the surrounding circumstances of the band who created it. the song is the "for squirrels" and the song is "a mighty kc," written about a rock star that committed suicide the previous year. in 1995 as the song was gaining air play the tire on the band's tour bus blew out and the half the band including the songwriter of this absolute gem, named Jack Vigliatura IV perished in the crash. unbelievably sad and poignant story, especially after listening to this amazing song. possibly, it's even more stirring for me because i'm always over-nostalgic about those years, say 1994-1996. they defined my life and i think the most amazing, melodic and emotional music was written in those years. give this song a shot. those were were alternative obsessive mid 90s geeks may vageuly remember it. just gorgeous and so sad. a perfect swan song to k. cobain.
i have it playing on my myspace because i can't even find it on soulseek.
